Hands On Training Seminar/Workshop
A most successful two days workshop seminar was run in Upper New York State at the new beautiful facilities of Brian and Sarah Kilcommons. Over two days, shelter dogs were worked in basic training exercises using the head halter, clickers, electronic remote trainers and other standard training equipment including treats. Intructors were Brian Kilcommons, Sarah Dubois, Pia Silvani and Martin Deeley.
The response from all attendees was more than enthusiastic in that they were able to see first hand how to introduce equipment to dogs that had very little training at all and all dogs unknown to the instructors.
This was a very exciting and much needed workshop that deserves to be repeated across the country and then expandsed upon. The more versatile a trainer, the more he or she can do to help dogs and their owners.
At this highly successful workshop Martin demonstrated the use of electronic remote trainers on four shelter dogs. This was for pet dog trainers and the overall comment was "We want to know more. How can we apply this technique - it works. Martin explained the methods of applying the collar so effectively and without stress to the dogs."
