Seminar Comments
Well, I just loved Jerry and Martin, so I wish the seminar could have gone on for another day, at least. As a beginner I didn't know what to expect. We covered a lot of ground. I loved the mix of being out in the field but having lunches back at the house where we could relax. Also I liked the way we started the day with discussion so we could ease into the active stuff. I loved the mix of people. I liked the way the puppies got to do quite a few things, I was afraid they wouldn't get much hands on time.

I learned a lot! Jerry and Martin were wonderful. I wish I could spend more time with them both. So much to learn so little time.
What I liked about the seminar is the hands on training with your dog.
I also liked watching other people. I loved listening to Martin explain what was going on when Jerry was working with a dog and handler.
I loved the camaraderie, I felt at home with friends.

Didn't want to go home! Jerry and Martin. They are awesome! Liked doing the drills and exercises. Learned a lot of things (especially during the "discussions"). Good group of people.

The Seminar was all I expected and more. I am so glad that I decided to come this year.
I think that both Jerry and Martin go beyond the limits that we set for our dogs. They "push" the dogs to go farther and make you realize that the dogs can do whatever we challenge them with. They showed us ways to deal with whatever "problems" our dogs may have - simple things that we can all do to make our dogs succeed in the field.
I really enjoyed doing the drills with them. These are basic things that we all need to do in order to get our dogs ready for anything. A lot of trainers do not take the time needed to get these basics down. No wonder we have problems with our dogs in the field - they haven't had the experience or the time spent on the basic things such as hupping to a whistle or coming to a whistle. I realize now how important yard work is and how necessary it is in the training process. I think that once you get the basics down, you can do anything and go as far as you want in the field.

I thought the one last year was really tops, however this one was more so. Martin gave a lot of benefit from his training experiences and methods last year, and this year Jerry opened up the door of field training knowledge. I certainly got a lot of what I went for this year. I wanted Handler Techniques and I got some real good pointers. As to Harry's poor retrieves I came away with 1.) A dog who did do some acceptable retrieving and 2.) A lot of ideas on training techniques.

I find it very rewarding seeing the changes in peoples attitudes about training and the major differences in their dogs. I think it was by far the BEST YET!!
